On this project, my role was to help build Ossus, and to make it feel intricate as possible minding player path, engine constrains, and memory budget. For these areas I was in charge of every world building aspect following a gold standard created by the lead environment artist. The most challenging part was creating a "forest" with only a handful of assets. The ship wreckage came after the cinematics team decided to change the story, and so I had to add it in the middle of my environment allowing me a few more props to work with. My job consisted of: polishing layout, set-dressing and propping, lighting, terrain sculpting and vertex painting, terrain painting (including pebbles and flora), VFX placement, collision, rooming, level polish, and optimization.
All assets were created by other artists, with some being kitbashed by me. Special thanks to, Carrie Meade (Art Director), Jason Moulton (Environment Lead), Zachary Schlanger, Garrett Brown, and the rest of the SWTOR team.
